Purple skin from tanning bed burn?

I just started tanning, just for vacation. and the lady put me in too strong of a bed, but i did not know this. Well i dozed off and apparently i was in there a little too long. Now the back of my legs have this thick line/stripe of purple-ish skin from where the burn was. Will this coloring go away or blend when I start tanning again? Any help will do.
